The most common fault with these old machines is a non-working drive.
The old belts perished badly over time and in many cases the solution to a dead drive is a simple belt replacement. These belts are of identical design and size to the originals, but manufactured with modern, more resilient materials.
Please note:
Two different types of disk drive were used in the Sam Coupe computers, each using a slightly different drive belt.
The way to tell which belt you should buy as a replacement is to check the colour of the disk eject button.
This belt is for the Sam Coupe with the blue eject button.
