All Ian Sinclair books were excellent.  In this book he simplifies the complex and powerful computer the BBC was to guide the reader through setup and the more difficult stages to the point of being able to write programs with confidence and exploit the full potential of the BBC.

Explains the jargon and covers the principles of disk operations. Covers BBC, AMCOM, Watford and others systems used on the BBC Micro, describing both normal and advanced disk operations in detail.

Ian Sinclair wrote many technical books which are all excellent.

A lot is squeezed into this book - quite detailed and in depth, despite being described as aimed for "little or no knowledge".
Covers functions, subroutines, procedures, libraries, functions, random numbers, sound etc.  The later chapters also cover hex, assembly language, machine code, interfacing and file handling.  Also touched on are the hardware specification, error codes ASCII codes and even the 6502 instruction set !

A 164 page paperback in very good condition.

Contains many useful and entertaining programs for the BBC.  Careful explanations are provided to allow modification or extension and there are many helpful tutorials on practical programming.

A 158 page paperback in fair condition.

15 major programs will allow you to use the BBC Micro in a wide variety of ways, including a word processor, home accounts, planner and telephone directory.
Also includes "BOSS" - a massive integrated program bringing together the most useful programs.

Maybe not much use these days, but a great way to brush up on serious programming techniques.
